Grontmij, the Dublin-based sustainable design, engineering and management consultancy, has appointed a new managing director for the UK and Ireland. John Chubb will join the company from 1st October 2010. Lawrence Hughes, current managing director of Grontmij in the UK and Ireland, will retain his role as chairman of the UK and Ireland board, as well as taking up the international group director role that he was appointed to in January on a full time basis. The rest of the senior management team remains unchanged.
Mr Chubb joins from VT Group, where he held various senior positions across the environment, nuclear and communications sectors. Most recently, he was managing director of the environment division, leading the successful integration of the waste to energy and nuclear businesses whilst delivering growth and efficiency savings.
Grontmij is active in the growth markets of water, energy, transportation and sustainable planning and design. Grontmij is the fourth largest engineering consultancy in Europe with almost 300 offices across the region and a further 50 offices globally.
