Operator of the M50 motorway, M50 Concession Ltd, has renewed a major 1.9GWh electricity supply contract with leading energy provider Energia.
The deal, worth €250,000 annually, will see Energia supply power for the M50 motorway’s road lighting. M50 Concession Ltd operates and maintains the M50 motorway from the Junction 3 M50/M1 to the Junction 14 M50, providing a 24-hour emergency response and vehicle recovery service, patrols on the motorway, together with routine and cyclic maintenance operations.

Energia has a 26% market share of the Irish business electricity and gas market supplying the energy needs of almost 60,000 business customers. In addition to renewable assets, the company also operates a 750MW gas fired power station in north Dublin.
