The most respected businesses and top Governments around the world rely on Xtralis to protect their personnel, business continuity, and assets, as do many irreplaceable cultural and historic landmarks.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny, TD marked the official establishment of Xtralis in Ireland at a reception in Dublin today. Xtralis will establish its international operating headquarter functions in Ireland and hopes to employ 50 people through the further growth of its operations here.  This will initially involve the establishment of 10 jobs in Ireland and will involve the relocation of a number of senior key executives to Ireland.

Speaking at the event, Taoiseach Enda Kenny said: “Xtralis decided to establish its global headquarters in Ireland because it recognised our pro-business environment, our talented workforce and the determination of this government to create the climate for enterprise to flourish. The Government is working hard to make Ireland the best small country in the world for business. Xtralis is a company which has put Research & Development at the core of its business and has the potential to further grow its operations in Ireland”.

Mr. Samir Samhouri, Chairman and CEO of Xtralis, explained that a meeting with the Taoiseach in Boston was pivotal to the company deciding to establish its international operating headquarters in Ireland.

“Our company was at a final stage in determining its preferred location for its international operating headquarters when I met the Taoiseach at a reception during his official visit to Boston last February,” commented Samhouri. “I was very impressed with his commitment to making Ireland ‘the best small country in the world to do business.’ It convinced me that we had to look at Ireland and it quickly became clear that the country had much to offer as a location. IDA Ireland provided excellent guidance and was invaluable in helping us to get our operations established quickly here. It was this flexibility and pro-business environment which was ultimately the deciding factor for us when choosing Ireland over another location,” he added.
Xtralis is a private company whose principal stakeholders are Pacific Equity Partners, a leading Australasian private equity firm, and Blum Capital Partners, a leading US private equity firm. Mr Samhouri believes there is an opportunity for Ireland to attract further investment from private equity backed companies. “Ireland offers an excellent environment for privately held companies, and we think this move will help us continue our rapid growth and expansion,” added Samhouri.

At today’s event Taoiseach Kenny and Mr. Samhouri unveiled a plaque commemorating the occasion and Xtralis performed live demonstration of its entire product portfolio, including VESDA, ICAM, and OSID smoke detection, ECO gas detection, ADPRO security solutions, and HeiTel remote monitoring solutions.
