JCDecaux is delighted that dublinbikes has been awarded the top prize in the Green Communications category at the 2011 Green Awards. The awards, organised by Event Strategies and sponsored primarily by Greenstar, were held in the Burlington hotel on Thurs 14th April and recognise companies who set the standard in terms of environmental leadership, celebrate excellence in sustainability and encourage green best practice amongst organisations and individuals.
Finalists in the Green Communications category were of an extremely high standard with such companies as ESB Electric Ireland, Aviva Stadium, Dell, Eircom and Bank of Ireland competing for the top prize.
It is a fantastic achievement for dublinbikes to win this award just a week after another daily rental record was reached, with 5,942 journeys taken on 8th April 2011. The scheme was also a runner up for the Green Travel Initiatives and the Overall Green Business awards.
