VAYU iPhone App to Aid Control of Energy Costs

Vayu, the independent business to business energy provider, has launched a new iPhone app, allowing businesses to access real time energy market information on the move. The new service is available to all businesses and is particularly relevant to companies facing large energy bills.

The new iVayu app offers subscribers and existing Vayu customers up to date information and news on a range of issues which affect the price of natural gas. This knowledge helps companies to buy their energy in a more proactive manner, not merely accepting the usual tariff or fixed price system which applies to most customers of the traditional utilities.

A proactive approach to energy management gives companies an opportunity to significantly reduce their energy bills, particularly for heavy energy users. But making good decisions requires good information and where possible good advice. This app is an important tool for businesses, providing that information.

Users will receive Daily Gas Price Alerts, showing the latest wholesale price of natural gas and market sentiment. The Daily Market Commentary will examine factors which can influence the supply and demand for energy and show how that impacts on the oil and gas market in real time. There is a Weekly Market Overview, providing a weekly review of the UK gas market – the core import market for Irish buyers. In addition to all this information, the app also allows VAYU customers to buy gas and to manage their account. This facilitates rapid decision making, allowing the user to take advantage of rapidly changing markets.

Launching the new App, Wayne Kelly, the project manager for the VAYU iPhone channel said “This project represents an important investment for us.  While our primary business is selling gas and electricity, one of the most important services we provide to customers is quality, relevant and timely information.  This new iPhone app makes it easier for our customers to communicate with us and get the information they need.”

The app was designed by Irish company Big Top Multimedia. The app is available through the iPhone app store.
