Fermanagh-based company Balcas, has added a County Down nursery school to its growing portfolio of brites clients. Family owned Little Rays Nursery in Moira is the first nursery school in Ireland to choose eco friendly brites as its preferred fuel supplier, having recently had a 45kW Dor wood pellet boiler installed by Green Energy Technology. This move is set to help the nursery make substantial savings of up to £750 a year on its fuel bills.
Little Rays, currently employs 15 full-time and 11 part-time staff who are responsible for the care of 86 children. The nursery is committed to reducing their carbon footprint and is using brites to provide the heating and hot water.
In addition to saving on fuel bills, by burning 15 tonnes of brites instead of 7,500 litres of oil, Little Rays will also be offsetting 18 tonnes of C02 and 4.9 tonnes of carbon annually.
