EMPI is a recently formed professional body for the energy management services sector operating in Ireland, with continued growth in demand for energy management and energy savings, our mission at EMPI is to play a leading role in facilitating and supporting the work of a national network of energy professionals.

EMPI are striving for professional excellence, sharing best practices as well as insights and innovation in the area of energy management. EMPI aims to provide visibility, exposure and recognition for Professionals working nationally and internationally. Our approach of recognising the academic and project-based achievements of applicants to meet membership criteria confirms the ability of our members. We strive to provide a network of experts who can successfully deliver the potential of energy savings from concept to execution. EMPI promote industry best practice, information sharing not only amongst our network of members but also through our website www.empi.ie and also at regular meetings and events.
EMPI echo SEAI’s national objectives of:
- Implementing strong energy efficiency actions that radically reduce energy intensity and usage
- Aiding the accelerating development and adoption of technologies to exploit renewable energy sources and cost savings measures.
- Supporting evidence-based responses that engage all actors, supporting innovation and enterprise for our low-carbon, sustainable future.
EMPI has been set-up to provide a platform to all stakeholders in Energy Management to come together in leveraging good practice and promoting further development of the energy sector. Current EMPI members cover a broad range of areas, with experts in wind, solar, biomass, bio fuel, transport, energy management and conservation, dealing with industrial clients, innovation research, training, government bodies, and international organisations.

Ireland is at the forefront of energy management practices internationally, a key objective for EMPI is to foster world-class energy management services in the interests of customers, members, the environment, and protect the independence and integrity of the profession. By fostering the ethics of Energy Management Professional Practice, it will provide our members the unique opportunity to work with clients all over the world and open up new marketing opportunities.
Members of EMPI have taken part in the development of Ireland’s Energy Management Standard IS 393 since 2005, and the subsequent EN 16001 standard. Now with the release of the internationally recognised ISO 50001 Energy Management standard, EMPI members are again taking the lead in implementing this revolutionary new standard around the world.
