An Taisce, The National Trust for Ireland, and South and East Cork Area Development (SECAD) have launched an innovative ‘Green Your Community’ training programme. The ‘SECAD Green Your Community’ training programme is aimed at empowering and supporting communities in the enhancement of their local environment.
Through the ‘SECAD Green Your Community’ training programme, community groups can avail of training in several key areas such as biodiversity, invasive species, coastal protection, community gardening and social media. All training modules will be held in both Carrigaline and Midleton and will be open to all groups and individuals in the South and East Cork area. Each module has been designed to provide groups with the knowledge and skills to continue their outstanding work in greening their local communities.
The ‘SECAD Green Your Community’ website was also been launched. www.secadgreenyourcommunity.org will act as an online resource for those who participate in the training programme. It will also provide a platform from which community groups can highlight their activities.
The SECAD Green Your Community training programme is funded by South and East Cork Area Development through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the National Development Plan.
