Activ8 Solar Energies Calls for Increased Government Support for Solar

Activ8 isn’t just celebrating; it’s setting the benchmark and calling for change. The company is proud to announce its triumph at the 2024 Deloitte Ireland’s Best Managed Companies Awards, proving that sustainability and success go hand-in-hand. This prestigious win spotlights Activ8’s exceptional growth, relentless innovation, and a company culture that sparks progress, solidifying its position as a trailblazer in the renewable energy arena.

The Deloitte Awards are the gold standard for management and business performance across Ireland, and Activ8 stands tall among the top 130 companies, representing a combined turnover of €17 billion and a workforce of 53,000. This is a testament to Activ8’s undeniable impact and leadership within an industry that’s shaping the future.

Since its inception in 2007, Activ8 has been on a mission. The installation of over 250,000 solar panels across Ireland isn’t just a number; it’s a tangible commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions. This remarkable feat, coupled with serving over 18,500 customers, reflects Activ8’s unwavering dedication to making a difference as Ireland’s longest-established solar company.

Activ8 has hired more than 200 staff and opened a headquarters in Carrickmacross,  Monaghan, demonstrating its commitment to growth and job creation. However, the company emphasises that continued progress requires supportive policies.

Activ8 urges the Irish Government to reinstate full solar grants in Budget 2025 to support carbon reduction and cost savings for individuals and businesses. They highlight the need to maintain higher grant levels, address barriers to commercial solar adoption, and accelerate planning processes to meet 2030 renewable energy targets.

Ciaran Marron CEO of Activ8, didn’t hold back the enthusiasm, stating, “This award isn’t just for us; it’s for everyone who believes in a greener future. It’s a testament to the passion, dedication, and innovation of our entire team. This recognition fuels our drive to push the boundaries of what’s possible in renewable energy. But we can’t do it alone. We call on the government to partner with us by reinstating full solar grants and streamlining processes. Together, we can accelerate Ireland’s transition to a clean energy future.”

The Deloitte Ireland’s Best Managed Companies Awards aren’t given lightly. Their rigorous evaluation process scrutinises every facet of business performance, from management practices and strategy to innovation, culture, and financial results. Only the best of the best are honoured, making Activ8’s achievement all the more resounding.

Activ8 isn’t resting on its laurels. This major milestone is a springboard for its future aspirations. The company remains fiercely committed to its mission of delivering cutting-edge renewable energy solutions and strengthening its position as a key player in an industry that’s vital to our planet.
