Midlands based hazardous waste specialists, Environmental Resource Group have further expanded their geographical capability with the acquisition of Hazchem Waste Disposal and The Lamp Recycling Company both based near Alton, Guildford.
Established in 1996, ERG has rapidly expanded through strategic acquisitions and outstanding organic growth to form a group of interrelated complimentary businesses all focused on servicing the hazardous waste industry. The Group includes Chemtech, an innovative waste solutions and logistics provider, Envirosol, the Group’s permitted facility operator, and Chemclear which offers industrial cleaning and environmental services.
When asked, Aron James Chief Executive Officer commented, ‘The hazardous waste market is very fragmented with lots of players. Having worked for one of the industry Blue Chips in the past, it was my mission to create a new and unique business that was wholly ‘client centric.’ It’s no coincidence that nearly 50% of our staff are employed in a customer related role, either working in our service centre in the Midlands or geographically positioned to provide regional support.’
James went on to say, ‘The Board are delighted with the acquisitions. We already have two EA permitted facilities in the Midlands and this additional site based in the South East enables ERG to further support our clients in the more densely populated areas of the UK.’
ERG is keen to grow and resolute in increasing its market share. Their enviable client base includes many of the high street brands and major manufacturers who have a duty of care to ensure that their hazardous waste is transferred, treated and disposed of appropriately. Industry expert Peter Cohen, previously Chief Executive of PHS Group recently joined the team as strategic advisor and will undoubtedly help James and the rest of the Board in this quest for growth and expansion.
