Ireland’s National Waste Prevention Plan has been operating successfully since 2004 and over that period has established itself as an effective national programme providing leadership on waste prevention for business, individuals and the public sector. Annual reports from the programme are available to download here.
Over the years, the programme has been revised to reflect evolution of the programme itself and the policy environment in which it operates. The EPA has now drafted a fourth iteration of the National Waste Prevention Plan, which is titled “Towards a Resource Efficient Ireland”. [pdf,792kB]
In order to gather views from all stakeholders on this national plan, a period of public consultation is now open. Representations in relation to the National Waste Prevention Plan may be made by email to wasteprevention@epa.ie – not later than Monday 31st March 2014.
Written representations made on or before this date will be given due consideration prior to completion and adoption of the plan. All submissions will be made publicly available and may be published on the EPA website.
