The Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment (DCCAE) is committed to engaging with stakeholders in a clear, open and transparent manner. This paper comprises an annual report, which details the activity that has been undertaken in the first two years of the Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme and a consultation paper which asks respondents to consider a series of questions on the obligation scheme.
There are no definitive changes to the scheme proposed, rather the aim of this consultation is to seek input on whether the Department should consider any changes to the operation of the next phase of the Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme which will run from 2017-2019. To this end, the consultation paper outlines the background to the scheme and the rationale behind the choices that determine the structure of the scheme.
The public consultation process will run until Friday, September 23rd 2016. Submissions are invited from all interested parties and should be submitted via e-mail to: energy.efficiency@dccae.gov.ie. A workshop for respondents will take place on Tuesday 30 September 2016.
The Department is bound by the Freedom of Information legislation and reserves the right to publish all submissions received. Where confidential or commercially sensitive material is included, this information should be clearly marked as confidential. The non-confidential elements of all submissions received will be published in response to the consultation.
