Tom O’Carroll has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer for Calor Gas, and will take up this role from 1st June. The company is the leading supplier of LPG and rural energy solutions across the Irish marketplace.
Tom O’Carroll has significant industry experience, having been with Calor Gas for 34 years, 15 which were as a member of the senior management team. He has worked in a number of senior management roles within the company, having served as Director of Corporate Affairs and Chief Operating Officer prior to being appointed CEO.
Tom spent over four years inChinaon behalf of parent company SHV, leading a team which established joint ventures as entry into the market. He holds an MBA from University College Dublin.
Current CEO, Michael Kossack, who was appointed to the Management Board of SHV Energy in May 2012 with responsibility for Western Europe, will be moving to the Netherlands where he will continue to lead operations for the region which includes Ireland.
Calor Gas employs 258 staff at six sites located throughoutIreland, and a further 200 indirectly. Parent company, SHV Energy operates in 25 countries and supplies LPG to tens of millions of customers worldwide.
