Ennis Town Council is launching its 2013 Environmental Initiatives Calendar, which documents some of the successful community environmental initiatives undertaken throughout the town during 2012 and profiles some of the projects that are scheduled to take place next year.
The Calendar features photographs of community and Council environmental initiatives carried out during the year, including the Bin Your Gum campaign, Bike Week, Spring Clean and the Reusable Shopping Bags scheme.
“Ennis Town Council has been very proactive during the past 12 months in promoting environmental awareness throughout the local community. We have been ably assisted by voluntary groups, schools and businesses in highlighting the importance of keeping the Clare County Capital free of litter, as well as promoting environmental awareness within the local community,” says Council Environmental Warden Gerry Murphy.
A number of environmental initiatives are scheduled to take place around the town during 2013 including the hugely successful Spring Clean campaign, an anti-litter initiative organised by An Taisce and funded by the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government.
