Arvato Hightech beat off tough competition to scoop the overall Best Member Award, at the 2012 Repak Recycling Awards. Arvato was recognised for its commitment to reducing packaging waste through its pioneering ‘Project Icarus’ initiative which aimed to reduce packaging by 20%.
Eircom Group won Best Prevention Initiative for the reduction in its branded Meteor box and reduction in the group’s back door waste of 71% in 2011. Thorntons Recycling was commended for recycling over 20,000 tonnes of packaging in 2011,
Ryans SuperValu in Glanmire was recognised for its consistent recycling performance, increasing year on year recycling rates by 8% – from 75% to 85% in 2011
