Hugh Friel, Former CEO of the Kerry Group and Chairman of Tourism Ireland, has recently joined the board of Kerry-based OES Consulting as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman.
Founded in 1999, OES Consulting is a leading provider of technical consultancy services in the energy, environment and safety sectors. The company works with a wide range of clients including Pfizer, Bord Gáis, Kerry Group, Iarnród Éireann, Astellas Ireland and Mainstream Renewable Power.
“I will be bringing over 40 years of business experience to OES Consulting, a company which has built up a considerable track record over the past twelve years,” Mr. Friel said. “I believe an organisation can benefit from the experience of an outside Non-Executive Director, in particular in the area of Strategic Development and Corporate Governance and I am happy to accept the invitation to join the board,” he said.
Mr. Friel is currently a Non Executive Director of United Drug plc and a Member of the Trilateral Commission. Educated at University College Galway, Mr. Friel joined Kerry at its formation in 1972 and was deputy CEO until 2001 when he became CEO. Hugh retired from Kerry in December 2007. He was Chairman of Tourism Ireland from January 2008 until mid 2011.
