Bord na Mona has been confirmed as one of Ireland’s most reputable companies. The Reputation Institute recently conducted its RepTrak 2011 survey with over 3,360 people and examined more than 120 companies. Ranking was affected by whether respondents:
*Admired and respected the company
*Trusted the company
* Felt good about the company
* Believed the company has an overall good reputation.
Bord na Mona ranked 22nd overall, while also being placed 8th amongst indigenous Irish companies. Google topped the overall list, with An Post leading the indigenous Irish list.
Bord na Mona’s reputation has undoubtedly been boosted by its continuing commitment to its vision “a New Contract with Nature”, which means working in harmony with and seeking to minimise any impact on the environment.
Bord na Mona spokesperson Pat Fitzgerald says: “What is particularly pleasing is being ranked second in the state-owned sector and first amongst all energy companies, including those privately owned. Our overall ranking is remarkable given that neither the energy industry in Ireland nor the state-owned sector are currently reputation-enhancing.”
