County Kildare-based wind and solar energy group Natural Power Company is to establish a new wind turbine manufacturing plant, resulting in the creation of 50 new jobs over the next three years. Located at in Ballymore Eustace, the company is already a licensed manufacturer of 500kW wind turbines for Belgian company Turbowinds. Natural Power Company has now been granted the licence to manufacture Turbowinds’ new T500-48 500kW utility grade wind turbines.
“This is an important step in establishing Ireland as a leading player in the wind energy industry,” points out Ross Murphy, managing director of Natural Power Company. “The impact of the new facility will be felt not only in our exports but also in the ongoing development of capacity and technical expertise in Ireland.”
