Martin-Brower Metroplex Ireland, a leading distributor of food products to the restaurant retail sector, has been awarded ISO 14001 for environmental management systems by the NSAI (National Standards Authority of Ireland). The company-wide environmental management system has allowed Martin-Brower Metroplex Ireland, which is the exclusive distributor of food products to over 100 McDonald’s restaurants across the island of Ireland, to identify waste reduction opportunities, energy efficiency measures and offer greater protection of the environment.
“In the current climate, where companies across all industries are becoming ever more conscious of the impact their businesses can have on the environment, Metroplex Ireland have taken the industry lead in best environmental practice,” comments Maurice Buckley, chief executive of NSAI. “We would encourage companies across all sectors to become ISO 14001 accredited, and position Ireland as a leader in environmental and energy efficiency. By adopting environmental standards, companies like Metroplex Ireland will gain competitive advantage and increase their market share, since consumers have increasingly demanded the highest ethical standards in an age of rising fuel and raw material prices.”
