A €22 million eco-friendly business park development is set for Greystones Co. Wicklow. In the uncertain economic climate in which we sit, it is refreshing to see a new eco-friendly development under construction.
Greystones Junction Business Park boasts a nine acre development that will provide industrial units in a wide range of sizes which can be designed to cater for occupiers specific requirements. The development works to reduce unnecessary building by looking for specific design requirements from buyers.
Christopher Keegan along with architects David Madden & Associates are developing the eco-friendly site off the Greystones southern access road (R774) between the N11 and Greystones town. According to an interview with the Sunday Business Post, Keegan said, ‘the site’s location was key to the success of the project’.
The site was bought for €12 million three years ago and has the potential for 160,000 sq feet of industrial space. The site is located close to public transport and the main roads making the location ideal for any business.
The starting prices to rent a small unit are around €9 per sq foot and the selling price is around €175 per sq foot including design and build. Keegan hopes to bring elements of his green portfolio to the Greystones Junction Business Park.
Mr. Keegan is involved in Greenscheme, a green residential development company and hopes his work with the residential developments can be translated into the Business Park.
The units are to include solar panels, rooftop wind turbines and energy efficient lighting in order to create a ‘green business community’.
Companies have already shown interest in the project with reports of companies liking the green credentials and the kudos of the location.
