As project size increases, and as the demands on all levels of management and subcontractors increase, The Bretland Group recognise that improved efficiencies, including methods of short-term planning, are required on sites. This requirement was also heightened with the undertaking of fast-track projects due to demands by clients to reduce durations on site and deliver projects in an accelerated manner due to their business-driven deadlines.

As part of Bretland’s approach to meet these demands and improve sustainability and efficiencies for their clients, The Bretland Group will soon be adopting Lean principles and Lean initiatives to all of their projects. Lean in construction is a relationship focused production management system that aims to eliminate waste (Time) from the construction process and deliver greater value to clients. Lean offers a clear framework for improving the process from design through to completion.

The culture of continuous improvement within the day-to-day operations at Bretland Group means that the organisation continuously strives to exceed the clients’ expectations through the adoption of new and innovative practices. The successful delivery of large and complex builds depends largely on the rigorous and systematic approach to scheduling – a tactic that Bretland embraces from project initiation stage right through to project handover.
