Irish Rail invests in green tech to cut its energy costs

Irish Rail has invested in a new energy management system to enable the achievement of future savings.

Under its ISO 5001 programme, Irish Rail claims to have reduced costs by €22m as part of an ongoing strategy to become more energy efficient.

Irish tech company ResourceKraft has been awarded the contract to deploy a new energy measurement system with service partners King and Moffatt Building Services.

Irish Rail, which operates nationwide commuter rail services including DART services in Dublin, will use the system to measure and verify conservation measures and meet government reporting obligations.
