€150,000 ‘Imagine Energy’ Competition Now Open For Entries

Calling all designers, planners, ICT professionals, creative thinkers and visual communicators – the Imagine Energy competition is now open for entries. This is an open ideas competition to develop and install a smart energy feature in Dublin’s city centre.

Sustainable energy adviser Codema and Dublin City Council are looking for inspired individuals to come up with a one-of-a-kind concept to inform and educate citizens about renewable energy in a creative and innovative way. With Eur150,000 to be invested in the winning proposal, Imagine Energy is the largest competition of its kind inEurope

This competition is a blank canvas so applicants can be as imaginative as possible; in order to grab the attention of passers-by! The smart energy feature must highlight the link between renewable energy supply and demand but can be as creative and original as possible in communicating this; be it through art, technology, light or even sound. There are many people out there who don’t know anything about renewable energy – the winning concept must inspire them.

Although the energy-smart feature will be a physical installation, it will also be complemented by a virtual component which will showcase how ICT and sustainability are merging to create an energy-smart city.

Imagine Energy is part of the INTERREG IVB Ace project and the competition organisers areDublinsustainable energy adviser Codema and Dublin City Council. Imagine Energy will be administered through Dublin City Council’s design portal, PIVOT Dublin.

Full competition brief and entry form are available by logging on to www.pivotdublin.com.
