Eco-store Purchase.ie has been shortlisted as a finalist for the 2012 Green Awards in Ireland. The online store which now provides over 140 products to help customers save energy, conserve water and reduce waste has been shortlisted in the Best Green Retailer category. In all six companies have been shortlisted in this category including Green Gorgeous, Musgraves (Crowley Carbon), SVP Dublin Region, the Happy Pear and the Secret Garden Centre.
The Purchase.ie website was redesigned in June 2011 so as to cater for international transactions. The business is now selling its product range into over 30 countries around the world and has a dedicated Irish product section on the website.
“One of the goals of the business is to help Irish innovators in the green sector to reach a global audience and achieve export sales,” says Colm Griffin of Purchase.ie. “At this point the majority of orders still come from the domestic market however international orders are growing at a steady rate.”
Eventually Purchase.ie hopes to represent Irish companies at relevant international trade events and build partnerships with international distributors and wholesalers.
Purchase.ie was a finalist for the 2011 Dublin Living Awards in the best green contribution to Dublin Life category.
The Green Awards are devised and organised by Event Strategies. The awards ceremony will take place at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin on April 19th. Over twenty awards will be presented on the night including the Green Building Award, the Green Leader Award and the Overall Green Business Award.
